Why Incident Response & Crisis Management Course and Why Now?
Crises and incidents may occur at any time without warning, posing significant risks to an organisation’s operations, reputation, and stakeholders. To ensure that your business continues to function with minimal disruption, effective crisis and incident response management is a fundamental component of a Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
This 2-day course provides an overview of the crisis management process and highlights key aspects of crisis communications, including media handling tactics. It is designed as a highly interactive and practical course, drawing on simulation exercises, case studies, and role-plays to reinforce learning and support practical application.

- Develop the knowledge & skills necessary for implementing an effective structure and processes for responding to and managing incidents & crises
Course Outline
Day 1 Incident Response & Crisis Management Course
- Discuss and explore the concepts, principles of Incident & Crisis Management (ICMP) and the processes involved
- Identify the tools & techniques that can be applied in anticipating and assessing incidents
- Identify the key activities and roles & responsibilities required for effective ICMP
Day 2 Incident Response & Crisis Management Course
- Identify escalation and activation policy
- Develop an incident response structure (as introduced in the Design stage of the Business Continuity Management Lifecycle), procedures and required resources
- Administer a crisis management capability in your organisation including writing the crisis management plan and the crisis communication procedure
Who Should Attend
You should attend if you are a(n):
• Member of the Crisis Management Team, BCM/Risk Management team or are assigned to draft the Crisis Management Plan and/or Crisis Communication Plan
• Professional responsible for managing incidents at a strategic and tactical level
