Why The CBCI Certification Training Course and Why Now?
The new Certificate of Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) 7.0 Certification Course is the most comprehensive business continuity training course that covers the full range of practices used by business continuity professionals to develop, implement, and maintain an effective Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
The course has been updated in line with the new Good Practice Guidelines (GPG) 7.0, which draws on the knowledge of practitioners from all over the world and on information from ISO standards.
By passing the CBCI Exam, you will gain a globally recognized and industry-leading certification in business continuity that will support you in job searches, career progression, and demonstrating your competency in the field of business continuity.
Upon completion of the training course, you can sit for the exam and apply to obtain the “PECB Certified ISO 31000 Lead Risk Manager” credential. The credential demonstrates that you possess the theoretical and practical knowledge and professional capabilities to support and lead risk management processes based on ISO 31000 guidelines and best practices in this field.

Course Outline
Day 1 Day 1 & 2 – Establishing BCMS, embracing business continuity and analysis
- Learn why & how to define the scope of BCMS and the activities needed to establish & maintain the programme
- Develop an effective business continuity policy and establish governance
- Understand and improve your organisation’s culture and business continuity culture through different approaches
- Overview on the benefits and outcomes of embracing BCM and the importance of ongoing monitoring & maintenance activities
- Utilise the primary techniques of analysis BIA & RA to identify the different variations and activities needed to carry out the analysis, including MTPD & RTO
- Assess the processes and activities of BIA & RA in the context of BCMS
Day 2 Day 3 & 4 – Solutions design, enabling solutions and validation
- Understand and design business continuity solutions and recovery strategies that can be used for different resources and RTO categories
- Learn to mitigate unacceptable risks and single points of failure
- Implement a solution and establish a response structure in relation to the factors affecting communications when responding to incidents
- Explore the development and management of BCPs, and the characteristics of strategic, tactical, and operational BCPs
- Identify the different types of exercises that can be utilized to develop, conduct, and evaluate a suitable exercise programme
- Overview of how a BCMS should be maintained and reviewed

Course Details
4 days (9 am – 5 pm, including 1-hour lunch break)
- Classroom training will be held in Kuala Lumpur unless stated otherwise in the registration form
- Online training will be held via Zoom
Passing the Certificate of Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) Examination is the first step to getting BCI-certified. The examination comprises of 90 multiple choice questions and candidates will have one hour and thirty minutes to complete. Kindly note that the examination will be conducted online on a separate day after the end of the 4 days training course. The CBCI certification is valid for 3 years and is subjected to an annual membership fee which is set at the same level of Associate Member (AMBCI). Higher levels of membership such as Member (MBCI) and Fellow (FBCI) are also available.

Upon fulfilling the course requirements with a minimum attendance rate of 75% and demonstrating proficiency in the assessments, candidates will be awarded an E-Certificate of Attendance from BCP Asia, along with a prestigious WSQ Statement of Attainment downloaded via individual MySkillsFuture portal.

This course is approved for HRD Corp claims.
